  • 10 Dec 2008 in National Assembly: Order, hon. Members! That concludes the business on the Order Paper today. The House is, therefore, adjourned until tomorrow, Thursday, 11th December, 2008 at 2.30 p.m. The House rose at 6.10 p.m. view
  • 9 Dec 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I am grateful. It is really important that the Assistant Minister gets the facts right. Article 3 of the CDF Act talks about the fight against poverty at the constituency level. In Section 19, it gives a formula on that allocation. This formula has been used over time. Now that we have new poverty indices, why is the Assistant Minister not using the current indices that were used in determining the poverty level in the constituencies? view
  • 9 Dec 2008 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Last week, you directed that a Question on the damming of River Omo be answered this Tuesday. view
  • 9 Dec 2008 in National Assembly: The Question on the damming of River Omo, Mr. Speaker, Sir. This river feeds into L. Turkana. view
  • 9 Dec 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, if the Leader of Government Business cares to read the HANSARD, he would have known which Question. I was just following the ruling of the Chair. There is a Question on the damming of River Omo that feeds into L. Turkana and the Chair directed that it be answered on Tuesday afternoon, which is today. It has not been answered. The Question is not even on the Order Paper and the Minister is away. Mr. Speaker, Sir, that was the second time the Question was deferred. view
  • 9 Dec 2008 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir. Are we on the Supplementary Order Paper? It is also carrying some of those--- view
  • 9 Dec 2008 in National Assembly: On which page? view
  • 4 Dec 2008 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Water and Irrigation:- (a) whether she is aware that there is extensive damming of River Omo, the major source of water into Lake Turkana, threatening to dry up the lake; and, (b) what urgent steps the Government is taking to stop this activity and to save the lake. view
  • 4 Dec 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I wish to demonstrate to the Assistant Minister how this Government has neglected this road. There is no way you can be talking about redesigning of a road that was already tarmacked if it has not been neglected and is no longer motorable. There are three bridges between Kapenguria and Kainup, Wakor Bridge being one of them. Last time Kainup Bridge collapsed, the army set up a temporary bridge. What will he do to replace the temporary bridges and all the drifts on the three bridges that collapsed on that road? view
  • 4 Dec 2008 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. The Assistant Minister did not answer my supplementary question. I had asked him about the replacement of Kainup Bridge that collapsed and a temporary bridge set up by the army a few years back. When will he build a permanent bridge? view
