Order, Members! From where I sit, which is an exalted position, the Senate Majority Leader is absolutely under no obligation to respond to that. First and foremost, if we are going to make Members do certain things, then we will be killing democracy. The democratic credentials of a Parliament are such that the majority will have their way, the minority will have their say and the outcome is what is important. Order Sen. Wako! I have deliberately made it clear that this Motion is “two in one”; if I may borrow that expression. We considered all the possibilities and we felt it is easier to go the Select Committee way. If the Select Committee is approved we would have a Committee. If the Motion is defeated, then we have the option of the plenary. Do not introduce extraneous factors here.
