Order, hon. Senators. I would like to respond to Sen. (Dr.) Machage. First, I commend you for the grasp of the Standing Orders and eagerness to ensure compliance unlike Sen. (Dr.) Khalwale who was questioning the process of excision of a forest when the procedures had been exhausted. Hon. Senators, Standing Order No.56 states:- “Amendments to be in Writing (1) The proposer of an amendment to a Motion shall, before moving it, hand the proposed amendment in writing, signed by the proposer, to the Clerk at least two hours before the order is read.” So, it is not one hour, ...

Order, hon. Senators! You are supposed to be speaking to the proposed amendment. So, I do not think those kinds of reminders are specific to deletion of certain recommendations.
