  • 23 Aug 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the Assistant Minister is not being fair to the House. First of all, at the district level, it is known in which constituencies dispensaries are located. So, if they ask for this information from the district, they will get it very quickly. His staff at the district know where every dispensary, health centre and hospital is located. view

  • 31 Jul 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the cost of constructing houses in the normal way is fairly expensive. When will that low technology be made available to the majority of Kenyans so that we can build houses which are affordable? view

  • 11 Jul 2007 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. We have free primary education and it must be seen to be all inclusive to all members of our society whether they are disabled or not. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, in the absence of Government-supported institutions for learning, we have left the disabled members of our society to be helped by NGOs and other well-wishers. We must do what makes these members of our society proud to be Kenyans. All we need to do is to make sure that we contribute to their welfare. We all know that for them to learn ... view
  • 4 Jul 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Prof. Olweny, the Mover of the Motion. This Motion has come in at the right time. I must also thank the Leader of Government Business, who is also the Vice-President for giving us information on how prepared the Government is to deal with these unfortunate members of our society. Those who are disabled, whether they are blind, deaf or lame, are not in that state by choice; it is a natural fate. We as Kenyans must take care of them. We have been informed that about ... view
  • 24 May 2007 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Health:- (a) whether she is aware that a project for construction of male and female wards that started on 14th April, 2005, at Ahero Sub-district Hospital has stalled due to lack of funds; (b) when more funds will be provided to complete the project; and, (c) whether she could further consider supplying the facility with dental equipment. view
  • 24 May 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I would like to thank the Assistant Minister for that very comprehensive answer. However, the hospital was initiated by the Assistant Minister himself following a visit to the sub-district hospital. He found out that in the eight-bed ward that is there, beds are being shared by men and women only that one faces the other direction because it is a very busy hospital and it is on a main highway. I think the Assistant Minister is not being given the correct figure about the amount of money remaining. To the best of my knowledge, the Ministry ... view
  • 24 May 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I have no further question. However, I will see the Assistant Minister so that I can also see the estimates that he has got from the Ministry of Roads and Public Works. I seem to have a completely different estimate from what he has. view
