  • 19 Oct 2021 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, in conclusion, I have reported to the House that the issue that was under inquiry was lack of issuance of death certificates. It has been concluded. There is no further inquiry that we can conduct as a Committee. view
  • 19 Oct 2021 in Senate: On the remaining four families, we have reported to the House that they have wrangles. The Ministry did indicate to us that they will continue engaging the families. Once they are able to agree, they will inform the Committee that the remaining four have been issued. view
  • 19 Oct 2021 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, as a good lawyer, once I was able to get satisfactory answers from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, I had no more recommendations to make. This is because the matter was functus officio in the wisdom of the Committee. That Committee has one of the most distinguished lawyers in this country. I think that is why we are called the people’s representatives. We all know that in the run-up to the passage of the 2010 Constitution, land was a very hotly debated issue. Chapter 5 of our 2010 Constitution is dedicated to land and environment issues.
