Since I have one minute and I am the Leader of the Minority Party, I can have discretion. If we can harvest all those resources that we have, prioritise, map up Kenya and do the right things, this country will be very beautiful. I have heard friends and tourists who come to Kenya saying we have the most beautiful country. I ask them why and they say that we have sunshine, best animals, the best coastline and great people who are enterprising and friendly. We are only waiting for take-off. We have everything going for us. Let us put our ...

together. Let us consult as much as possible and let us move towards one goal by making a Budget that is friendly to the common mwananchi . We have done public participation and so, we know what hurts our people. In my constituency, headmen are never paid. At least, sub chiefs and chiefs are paid. I am sure this happens in other constituencies. Next time, let us factor in some money to pay headmen in the villages because they do a lot in terms of gathering information. The leaders of

Thank you, Hon. Speaker, for giving me a chance to contribute to this very important Motion. I support the nomination of Archbishop Wabukala to the position of Chair of EACC. This is a man of God. All the other people who have been tried from Hon. Mwau, Hon. Ringera, PLO Lumumba, Mr. Matemu and lastly Mr. Kinisu were not leaders in the church. I can see there is now an attempt by His Excellency the President to involve the men of God and I think this is the right direction. I have never met Wabukala but I have read a ...

Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I take this opportunity to thank the Committee on Environment and Natural Resources for coming up with these two candidates through a rigorous vetting exercise. I knew Mr. John Kioli when I was the first Minister for Environment in this country. Since that time I have known him of going round and encouraging people to plant trees. He has been doing that even long before we knew about climate change. The Committee made a very wise decision and resisted dictation by the international organizations. This is because people form cartels and try to influence the appointment ...

Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me the opportunity to contribute to this important Bill. I sit in the Honours Committee. I have listened to what the Members have said that the process should be transparent, predictable and fair so that those who strive to be honoured know the criterion used. Beyond the honours, we have heroes and heroines living in abject poverty and yet they sacrificed to make this country great. Families of some of the Kapenguria Six are living in poor conditions. The Government should identify and help them. The Kapenguria Six were selfless freedom fighters ...

sacrificed to give us freedom. It is now after death that we want to recognise him. We should look for his family and thank them by providing them with some financial assistance. I was surprised to read in the newspapers that Ms. Conjestina Achieng could not afford to pay rent and her medical bills. I used to go to Nyayo Stadium to watch her during the boxing matches. She brought glory to Kenya during those days. We should also honour our athletes who have brought honour, glory and wealth to this country. We should also try to follow up on ...
