  • 25 Jun 2014 in National Assembly: Kenyans have lost their dear ones. The issue of insecurity is so serious. I am happy that this Committee has allocated Kshs80 billion to the national security sector. We want delivery of services. We want Kenyans to live freely. We do not want anybody to stoke ethnic tensions through incitement. The law should take its course on anybody trying to incite Kenyans, be they from Jubilee or CORD. We will not support that because it is very wrong. We do not want Kenyans to butcher each other. Even if you sack the Cabinet Secretary and bring an angel he will ... view
  • 25 Jun 2014 in National Assembly: There has been a lot of poaching, yet the money that has been allocated to combat poaching is not sufficient. We need more money to protect our wildlife – it s our heritage. We will lose tourism, which brings us a lot of money, if we do not allocate more money to protect what we already have. This country is situated in a very good geographical position. Kenya is the gateway to Africa economically and for so many other things. We are situated across the equator, where the climate is so good. We have very good People who are very ... view
  • 24 Jun 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker for giving me this chance to contribute to this very important Motion. I want to support it and say that the Committee did a good job. • 24 Jun 2014 in National Assembly: Budget; but under Article 223 of the Constitution Parliament is allowed to approve spending by the national Government. I am happy that the Supplementary Budget has not exceeded 10 per cent of the 2013/2014 Budget. Having said that and supported this Motion, I just want to say that we are not very fortunate as we have exceeded our borrowing limit in the Budget. This is because we have borrowed over 52 per cent of our GDP. We have borrowed Kshs2.2 trillion, which is a lot of money. This debt will be paid by our children and grandchildren. Even when people ... view
  • 24 Jun 2014 in National Assembly: This is because people in Eastern Province engaged Moi’s Government, Kenyatta’s Government, Mwai Kibaki’s Government and Uhuru Kenyatta’s Government about this road. This is because there are substantial deposits of the best coal in the world in the region where this road passes. There is also the largest deposit of limestone and even copper for making--- Lower eastern region where the road passes is still untarmacked. It is shorter when you want to go to Meru, Ethiopia and so forth. As legislators, we have been talking about it. I appeal to my good friend, whom I respect very much, hon. ... view

  • 19 Jun 2014 in National Assembly: I am appealing to you, hon. Speaker that you give hon. Members a chance to contribute. I realize that the Leader of Majority Party, hon. Kamama, hon. Maj-Gen. Nkaissery, hon. Speaker, hon. Eng. Mahamud, hon. Midiwo and hon. Kimani Ngunjiri were all great friends of Gen. Mulinge. In fact, hon. Kimani Ngunjiri served with the late Gen. Mulinge in KANU. At that time, he was my junior. Hon. Speaker, I would like you to grant us time to pay tribute to this great hero. view
