  • 25 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: It may not sound very good but it is also good not to be selfish because we are Members. view
  • 25 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, the Jubilee side should be reminded that I am the Minority Leader and this is my view. We should not be selfish. These are our sisters and we have to show concern and love. We are all Members of Parliament. view
  • 25 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Deputy Speaker. This money was meant for the runoff. As hon. Mbadi said, it should not be Kshs6 billion because it was for the 2012/2013 Financial Year. I have heard the Majority Leader say that it will be factored in the 2013/2014 Financial Year. We want a clarification on whether it will be Kshs12 billion or it will still remain Kshs6 billion. This is because if it remains Kshs6 billion, where would the Kshs6 billion have gone? view
  • 25 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: That is the verification I was seeking. Hon. Ann Waigura has done a good job. Thank you. view
  • 24 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: On a point of order, hon. Deputy Speaker. view
  • 24 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Deputy Speaker. I think the confusion we see will continue to be seen so long as the committee chairpersons, who are given the responsibility of interrogating issues and summoning Cabinet Secretaries are not given a chance to come and issue Statements. I think Standing Order No.44(c) is very clear. The Leader of Majority Party and the Leader of Minority Party can make Statements; but as to issues touching on Statements that Members require, hon. Kamama is right; committee view

  • 24 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, I rise to support this Report because it comes from the Committee. The nominees seem qualified. I support this Motion with a rider that all appointments have to show the face of Kenya. If you look at most of the appointments that have been done since Jubilee Coalition came to power, they favour Central, Rift Valley and parts of North Eastern. The rest of the country is not getting a fair share of representation in Government. Sometimes when we ask we are told that this is a presidential system and that the winner takes it all. view
  • 24 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, I do not want to get into that. You know hon. Shebesh is a lost sheep. She was part of us, but we donated her. The only problem is that 70 per cent of the Cabinet positions are occupied by people from one region, yet we have to show the face of Kenya. I have a reason to support--- view
  • 24 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Deputy Speaker. Kenya is a great country and we want to build it together. This country has 42 tribes and we have qualified people from those tribes. That is from Turkana to the Coast and from western Kenya to the eastern part. It will be failure for the ruling Jubilee Coalition not to look at every corner, so that we have balanced appointments. view
