I had a very rare opportunity to work as a Cabinet Minister with President Uhuru Kenyatta, Deputy President William Ruto and all the Opposition leaders - Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Sen. Wetangula. Those leaders are blessed with different gifts by God. Many Members of the Jubilee Coalition might not even know that President Uhuru Kenyatta is an economic genius. He is a guru in that area. He advises very well. I know him very well because I have worked with him. Raila is very aggressive, a crowd puller and a thinker; he moves things. Ruto, just like Raila, is ...

Sen. Wetangula is a very accomplished lawyer. Kalonzo is the chosen one. He is a very loyal and intelligent lawyer. I am a very loyal person who seeks God‘s favour. I would like to bring to the attention of new Members that in 1990, I had an opportunity to serve with these leaders as a Cabinet Minister. We should listen to them because they are gifted in different ways. Instead of rebelling, let us try to bring them together so that we can move this country forward. Whenever we have a crisis in this country, we have always seen the ...

We have had a very difficult time working with our counterparts in the Senate. We have less than one year before elections and I want to plead with them to soften their stance. We now have a love-hate situation and for the remaining period, let us try to bridge the gap and work together.

Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I have not spoken for quite some time. I want to second the Hon. Leader of the Majority Party and I do not have much to say because I have said so much within the day. However, I want the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) Board to ensure that the remainder of the funds are released to the NG-CDF accounts so that when Members break, they can go and undertake development activities. I thank all the Members of the National Assembly, its leadership staring with Hon. J.B. Muturi and all the leaders of the House ...

Thank you, Hon. Speaker for giving me an opportunity to contribute to this very important Bill. I rise to oppose it in totality. The reason for opposing is that the poor Kenyan will suffer most. We know harambees have contributed to the education of some of us who are seated in this august House. We know the people we represent suffer very much. They always call for harambees to pay hospital bills, to settle funeral expenses and to build schools and churches. We know in Kenya there is unequal distribution of resources. If we regulate fundraisings through this Bill, it ...

, the colonial past or any other things that has happened in the past. We should look at the future and know that Britain is the sixth largest economy after US, China, Japan, German and France. Even after Brexit, I am sure the UK will continue playing a bigger role on the global stage. We have an historical link with Britain and so are many countries in Africa and Asia. That is why English is one of the most widely spoken languages. It would be good for Members to support this Motion. I have listened to the Members who come ...

All the issues that had been raised before when this Motion came before this Parliament have been addressed. Those are the issues of unexploded ordinance, trying the British troops who commit crime in the country and corporate social responsibility where we have heard from Members from those areas that schools, roads, water provision and other services have been provided. I do not want us to narrow it to the areas that the UK had not favoured them, like the banning of miraa. Each country has priorities for its people and there is a reason. There are things that we also ...
