They create problems even in the homes. Men cannot talk!

Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, that is not a point of order!

19 Jun 2008 in National Assembly:
Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I am not challenging the 30 per cent policy. I am not sure if Mr. Muthama is aware of that if you go round today and talk to women who have got jobs on their own initiative, they do not support that policy. Even some of the ladies in this House have fought men and defeated them; they were never assisted by anybody! If we encourage this idea of saying that we should give women a chance, in fact, they will just sit and wait for that 30 per cent allocation. If you visit some ...

19 Jun 2008 in National Assembly:
Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, in fact, Ms. Odhiambo supports me. She has just said she is hard working and has performed better than many men. She does not need to be among the 30 per cent! That is very good! Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, the issue of security in this country has been a problem. A lot of money has always been allocated to security. But there are times when security is misused. Sometime back, for the General Service Unit (GSU) officers to come out of their barracks, it had to be something very serious, which the ordinary ...

10 Jun 2008 in National Assembly:
On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. The hon. Member is out of order. There is no way we can adjourn when the Motion is going on. As long as there is quorum, we have to continue discussing it. However, if there is no quorum, there could be a genuine reason. Otherwise, he is out of order.

14 May 2008 in National Assembly:
Tusipofanya hivyo, chuki itaendelea kuwepo baina yao. Ikiwa sisi waheshimiwa Wabunge hatuwezi kwenda kuongea na ...

14 May 2008 in National Assembly:
Bw. Naibu Spika, mimi ninaomba tu! Hakuna mtu angelifikiria jambo hilo. Sasa ikiwa watu wengine ambao wako ndani ya Serikali wananyamaza ilhali wale walioumia wakipigana wako ndani, hii inaleta vita vibaya. Hata kuna Wabunge wengine ambao hivi karibuni hawataweza kwenda ...

12 Mar 2008 in National Assembly:
Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir, for giving me an opportunity to support this Motion. We are here as hon. Members. As you know, only 30 per cent of the former hon. Members made it back to this House. The majority of the hon. Members, about 70 per cent, are all new. This is a very good thing. In fact, this has shown some of us, who have been here for long, that unless we pull up our socks, maybe in 2012 we shall not be able to make it back. I have also noticed that the majority of hon. Members ...

30 Aug 2007 in National Assembly:
Mr. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir, I think the freedom of the Press is very important. Nearly 80 per cent of what is reported in the newspapers is correct. It is once in a while that individuals fail to write the right things. If we do not give them that freedom, we will not know what is happening in this country. The Press has, in many cases, disclosed what most of us were never aware of. Mr. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir, you are also aware that even some hon. Members in this House have taken some of the media houses to ...
