  • 9 Jun 2016 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I agree with my good friend, the Senator for Nyeri. This is a very important matter. If that is the decision of the Committee, I have no problem. I would wish to be informed when the Cabinet Secretary is coming so that I can attend that session as a friend of the Committee. view
  • 9 Jun 2016 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I understand why my Chairman is rushing to the other one. We do not have the answer to this one. I have a letter that we wrote to the Ministry. view

  • 2 Jun 2016 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I should have started with this one because it is the first one on the Order Paper. Nevertheless, pursuant to Standing Order 45 (2) (b), I rise to seek a Statement from the Chairperson of the Standing Committee on National Security and Foreign Relations regarding the campaign against the manufacture and consumption of second generation alcohol in the country. In the Statement, the Chairperson should explain why the national government’s attention and funding of the campaign against illicit and second generation alcohol is skewed and has only concentrated in a few counties or regions yet ... view
  • 2 Jun 2016 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, if we check in the records, I requested for these statements in early April and the Chairman undertook to respond in two weeks. It is now over two months. This excuse of, “the statements have not been signed” has been there I think the four times that the statement has come up. The Chairman has always said that the statement was ready but not signed. I think we should compel him to deliver them as promised. view

  • 5 May 2016 in Senate: On a point of order Mr. Speaker, Sir. You realize that the Statement was requested by Sen. Chelule and she is not in the House. Our practice has always been that it is good for the statement to be issued when the Member who requested for the Statement is in the House. I seek your guidance on that.
