  • 27 Feb 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman, I support and thank the Member for Mbita for bringing this very well thought out amendment. It is not only going to be a source for our children, but it is also going to give them a right of recognition whenever achievements of outstanding nature are made by the children. view
  • 25 Feb 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I also join hands with my colleagues in supporting the two. I believe this support is a great source of encouragement for the two nominees who will, no doubt, dedicate their inner-most spirit to the service of PSC. As such, I also add my voice and record my support for the two nominees. view
  • 12 Feb 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. Initially, I was going to rise and vehemently oppose the Bill on account of its unconstitutionality. Having consulted with the Chairman of the Departmental Committee, he has assured me that my concerns will be taken back to the Committee. There will also be consultations with the Attorney-General (AG). I am of the view that the Bill should be passed. My concerns stem from Clauses 82 and 83 as proposed to be amended--- view

I have brought to the attention of the Chairman of the Committee that there is a Judgment that was given by the Industrial Court as currently constituted under Article 162(2)(a) of the Constitution. That Judgment was entered on 14th June, 2013 ... view
  • 12 Feb 2014 in National Assembly: participation in industrial action - are brought to this House. This will be in complete harmony with the decision of the court and subject to that, I support the amendments. view

  • 5 Dec 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir, I just wanted to point out something on Clause 2 where the definition of the word “earnings” is given. The relevant law is the Labour Institutions Act, 2007, and not the Labour Relations Act, 2007. That is the relevant law. view
  • 5 Dec 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir, may I further propose that rather than mentioning the Act by name, we say “under the relevant labour law”? view
  • 5 Dec 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman. I rise to oppose this amendment in as far as Kenya is concerned. It has long healed and there could not have been a better time to demonstrate this than the just concluded General Elections, where we had a peaceful election and peaceful transition. To propose that the Cabinet Secretary should not put in place a mechanism that will monitor the implementation of the report--- view
  • 5 Dec 2013 in National Assembly: seconded. view
