  • 28 Sep 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I want to agree with Hon. Mbadi that a lot appears to be happening at the IEBC. Parliament, through its relevant Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs, should be seized of it. Parliament is also hearing of it like other people. We are talking of voter registration. Polling stations have not been established. We do not know which new ones have been established. We are being told of voter projections. We do not know what they are based on. We do not know the extent to which the IEBC is already interacting with the Civil ... view

  • 11 Aug 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. Around the time of Kamukunji meeting in 1991, I was in Form One at St. Joseph’s School Rapogi. What I saw in Hon. George Nthenge, Hon. Martin Shikuku, Hon. James Orengo and Jaramogi Oginga Odinga is an imprint in my mind about what a patriotic Kenyan should do for political and civil liberties in their country and for democracy to prosper. The image of those leaders I have mentioned together with others on a bare pick up tells us and reminds us as leaders today that possibly when we are just thinking about our ethnic origins ... view

  • 8 Jul 2021 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I wanted to speak on behalf of the Chairperson of the Committee, who is absent because I chair the sub-committee dealing with questions, petitions and legislations in that Committee. The matter I was requesting to bring to the attention of the House is that this matter is not new. This question and even the issues being raised are not new. The records of the House will confirm that there is a previous Petition brought on the very matter and on the very issues by Hon. Ali Rasso himself. That Petition has been considered by the Committee and let ... view
  • 8 Jul 2021 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, as the request comes to the Committee, you need also to direct, so that this matter is seen to be treated seriously, that by the next sitting, the report of the Committee be tabled here. However, we have such a conclusive report indicting even some Members in the House over the chaos said to be taking place there. Let us table the report. Send the matter to the Committee, but let us table the report by the next time ... view
