If you look at the 11th Parliament, you will find that the female Members representing constituencies virtually came from their places of birth. I do not know what the society is telling us. There are also cultural issues which we need to deeply think about and deal with. There are cultural and societal idiosyncrasies about leadership and the role of women in leadership that we need to deal with. This is a solution. This is a day you should sit and implore each and every Member of Parliament representing you to be in the House when we need those numbers to pass this Bill so that we move forward. I am requesting women of Kenya out there and those Members or our colleagues you did not give the grace during the party nominations which was largely a blood bath for this House, to cajole them and get them back.   • 18 May 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for allowing me to speak to this matter. My understanding of what we are doing is that once we elect these Members, they become representatives of our nation in EALA. Immediately we elect persons here, they will be representatives of Kenya to EALA. They will not represent Jubilee or CORD. I am picking from what Hon. Rasso was speaking to. Ultimately, we need a unified front, that is, representatives of our nation in the community of nations called the EAC that we have decided to be party. view
