  • 30 Jun 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. On the issue about artists, this House should have the first priority in protecting them because most of them are the ones who entertained our electorates and made us to be here. Almost 80 per cent of the Members, in one way or another, passed through the hands of artists. • 28 Apr 2021 in National Assembly: I am taking you there. The Constitution clearly stipulates that the people are sovereign. Therefore, their power over constitutional organs created by the Constitution is not limited. They can rewrite the Constitution as it happened in 2010 or amend any Article as they so wish. In the process of amending the Constitution through a popular initiative, Parliament is a little more than a conveyer belt between county assemblies and the plebiscite. Our role is to give opinions that will further inform debate among people to reject or approve the proposed constitutional amendment Bill. The only thing that The electronic version ... view
  • 28 Apr 2021 in National Assembly: can be unconstitutional in a referendum is its procedure and not what the people want to change. The aspirations of the people supercedes any organ created by the constitution. Let us pass this Bill to its rightful owners, the people of Kenya. Let it die or survive in their hands. It is very important that we pass this Bill because the only thing that has been lacking all along in the business environment is the ease of operating business. That matter is addressed in this law that has been brought before ... view
  • 23 Mar 2021 in National Assembly: I can challenge him because I am talking from a point of information when it comes to a unicameral multi party regime. This was done by the second founding father of this Government who is the late Mzee Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi. So, I do not want to indulge much on Hon. Sankok’s remarks because he has a lot of challenges, part of which could be understanding what I have said. We know him as part of the people who are here because of some challenges. I do not want to indulge Hon. Sankok. On the NSSF, the NHIF and ... view
  • 2 Mar 2021 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, I am just wondering how the Government can tell people not to plant what they depend on? Maize is for food security. You cannot tell people not to plant maize unless the Government is going to provide them with alternative food to eat. This is a sensitive issue. view
  • 2 Mar 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I beg to move that the Care and Protection of Older Members of Society Bill (Senate Bill No. 17 of 2018) be now read a Third Time. I request Hon. John Mbadi, my good friend, to second. view
