  • 25 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: work together with the Kenya Navy. There must be a law where the Kenya Navy can be called upon to assist where they need manpower and capacity to rescue. view
  • 25 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: Coming to inland waters, we have many lakes in this nation and some of them have a lot of flora and fauna which is not found anywhere else in the world. The way to protect them from poachers is having an authority or service to protect them. For example, look at Lake Bogoria, and other lakes in this country there are many enzymes being extracted by foreigners pretending to be doing research. They are extracting enzymes which biologically are used to develop other products. They take them to their country and make billions. We must have a patent right to ... view
  • 25 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I support this Bill. We will look at the amendments during the Committee stage to enrich this Bill so that it supports this country in moving forward. view
  • 28 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I also wish to agree with my brother, Hon. Ng’eno. He has stated the truth and I want to stand by what he says. First and foremost, I wish to send my condolences to the families of the people who lost their lives in a very tragic way. These are innocent people who were killed by unknown people out of assumptions that they did whatever was presumed to have been done. The businessman who was killed from my family is called Ole Kolian. This is the fourth time people have tried to kill him and ... view
  • 28 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: The community that suffered this tragic event has always lived with the Maasai people. Even now they still live together. Their farms neighbour each other. There are no border issues. It is individuals who want to take advantage through criminal acts. I got hold of the District Commissioner (DC) and the member of the county assembly for the area, one ole Kijabe, and I asked them to move to the ground and restore peace. This young man was a popular businessman. He was shot and money was taken from him. There are reports here and there and The electronic version ... view
  • 28 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: the police are aware of many things. I would rather the police handle this matter. As Hon. Ng’eno said, we must investigate quickly and arrest the people concerned. Earlier this year, we had the same issue and innocent people died for no reason. I urge the Government particularly the Cabinet Secretary for Internal Security, Mr. Matiang’i, that arresting chiefs is not going to do any good. One chief was arrested the other day and I understand he has ordered the arrest of another three chiefs from one community. This is not going to help the situation because the people will ... view
  • 29 Oct 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I apologize for approaching you because as the Minister for Immigration, I did a lot to try and address this matter. view
  • 29 Oct 2014 in National Assembly: Yes, I addressed the issue of refugees. We removed the refugees from the hands of the NGOs to the Government and the Government now is able to address that matter. That is why there is peace and harmony within our refugee camps in the nation today. This is a very sad situation and I support the Mover because of what it is all about. I would encourage her to visit the Philippines and see because they have 3,000 refugee workers in the Middle East. It is because of the laws that are there to protect and guard the people; to ... view
  • 29 Oct 2014 in National Assembly: The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor. view
  • 20 Nov 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I want to support the Committee for this honourable Bill. I know there were a lot of consultations with all the stakeholders. This addresses the issues of wildlife conservation and wildlife management. Clause 64(3) talks about the killing of wildlife. Any person who may kill an animal, the clause talks about the penalties and circumstances under which that person has to pay whatever damage. The hon. Member has said that a wild animal walked comfortably into a homestead and killed the owner. For the first, it is not illegal now in terms of self- ... view
