  • 29 Mar 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, we have seen how the Government is in blatant disregard of the laws of this country. It keeps on chasing squatters from their dwelling sites without giving them an alternative place to go. Could the Assistant Minister assure us that no more squatters will be chased from their settlements without being given alternative sites for settlement? view
  • 29 Mar 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, we want the Assistant Minister to prove that, indeed, the matter is in court. He is unable to do that. view
  • 29 Mar 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I am so disheartened by the manner in which the Minister is addressing this problem. First of all, he has talked of one Kenya Police Reservist from the Gabra community killing three people. That must be a super KPR you have, Mr. Minister. The exact circumstances--- view
  • 29 Mar 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the DACs went there and verified that two people were killed on the first day at the site where the animals were stolen. The following day, our KPR got killed when they were in hot pursuit of the raiders. They were killed on two different days. Our contention has been that since the people from North Horr are saying that they killed raiders, we are saying that we want those people who said they have killed raiders to come out. We want their names so that they can come out and tell Kenyans how they were attacked ... view
  • 29 Mar 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, there are three more incidents. I just want to show the House the complacency on the part of the Government. view
  • 29 Mar 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I would like to know what action has been taken on all these cases which have been reported to the police. What action has the Government taken to contain this community which is constantly harassing other communities living in that area? view
  • 28 Mar 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I am not comfortable with the way the Assistant Minister pushed the question which was raised by Mr. Khaniri, under the carpet. The question was about support to mission hospitals. Mission hospitals provide health care to poor people. Therefore, they play a complementary role to Government health facilities. Could the Ministry come up with a policy that will give annual support to all mission hospitals throughout the country, because that action will assist poor people who access those facilities? view
  • 28 Mar 2006 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Last week, I sought a Ministerial Statement from the Office of the President concerning insecurity in my constituency. I can see the Minister is here, and I do not know whether he is ready to give it today. view
  • 22 Mar 2006 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir, for giving me this opportunity. Last week on Thursday, the 16th of March, one community from Marsabit District that has been literally at war with all its neighbouring communities in its unending quest for violence and lawlessness, raided El-Dimtu area which is at the common border between Marsabit District, Moyale District and Ethiopia and killed three people, including a Kenya Police Reservist from Moyale District. In the process, they stole 1,500 cattle, which was probably the only remaining livestock for my people. Up to date, none of those animals has been recovered. Our security people, ... view
  • 22 Mar 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I want to build up my argument for the Ministerial Statement. view
