  • 11 Dec 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, the allegations pertaining to drug trafficking are very serious; more so, if it is in any way to be implied that the respectable Government of the United States of America was saying something that was not truthful. It is, therefore, important that this issue be cleared completely, so that we can know who were actually involved in the trafficking of that one tonne of cocaine. This is better than trying to implicate people who were not involved, especially since those people are Members of Parliament. view

  • 11 Dec 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, as you ruled, I will be appreciative if the hon. Attorney-General can clear this matter, once and for all, so that the people who are innocent can live in peace. view
  • 11 Dec 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to thank the Assistant Minister for the answer that he has given. • 6 Dec 2012 in National Assembly: asked the Attorney General whether he could clarify whether by a letter Ref: AG/CR/2053/905 dated 25/3/2009, the United States Government was informed of the facts pertaining to the 1,141.5 kilograms of cocaine seized in Embakasi, Nairobi and Malindi in 2004 and, if so, provide a copy of the said letter. view
  • 6 Dec 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Question is very important and only relates to a letter in a Government file. view
  • 6 Dec 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Question is very simple because it relates actually to a letter that is supposed to be in a Government file. So, it is only a question of producing it. The Question was deferred this week on Tuesday to today. So, let us give him a chance to Tuesday to respond, and the Question be given first priority. view
  • 6 Dec 2012 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. Article 99(1)(b) of the Constitution requires that a person should have certain educational requirements. The postgraduate is not something that you can define. That is what the Act provides for. There is no certificate issued on postgraduate by any institution. So, we should have been very specific on what we wanted. For the President, you said one requires a degree. For others, you should have said something but this was not said. If I heard the Attorney-General correctly, he clearly said that the courts have found that Article to be ... view
