Speaker, pursuant to Standing Order No.44(2)(c), I wish to request a Statement from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Agriculture, Livestock and Co-operatives regarding the deteriorating financial status of the Kenya Meat Commission (KMC). There is great concern that operations at the KMC are once again grinding to a halt, with the livestock traders’ and the First Community Bank money, which the KMC owes them, being at risk.
