Teachers play a very pivotal role in terms of education. I went to school in Bomet and I understand the squalid conditions institutions are in. Therefore, teachers in those areas are really suffering. Schools have no water. You have to walk for a long distance because there is no accommodation in the institutions. The objects of the Bill are to make a law or a framework of training, registration and licensing of Biomedical Engineering professionals. The Bill further seeks to regulate the practice of Biomedical Engineering and provide for the establishment of powers and functions of the Biomedical Engineering Board. The board shall raise its funds through such money as it may accrue or through gifts, loans, grants and donations, licence and registration fees to enable it to operate. I want to support the Bill. • 16 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: such a figure that the AG was not in a position to make a determination or give a good opinion on, yet this is Government money that we desire to finance our Budget. This is an area we have shared with the National Treasury. We were lucky to have had a meeting with the CS of the National Treasury. • 16 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, there are issues on imprest. Looking at the documents, this is reducing. In that financial year, we had over Kshs351 million in form of imprest. But these are issues of management. A circular has been issued to the effect that officers are no longer required to surrender imprest within 48 hours, but within seven days. The performance of small schools will be recognised in this country. We have been ranking schools in terms of education performance, but when we bring in co-curricular activities, we can bring on board small schools which perform so well in these activities. view
