Speaker, pursuant to Standing Order No.44(2)(c), I wish to request for a Statement from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Transport, Public Works and Housing regarding design flaws in the Western Bypass under construction in Kiambu County. The ongoing construction of the Western Bypass is set to cut through Kabete Constituency, passing through several centres. The said areas hold a population of over 95,000 people. This renders the service lane almost useless in terms of socio- economic impact for the area residents. (v) There lacks an underpass at Kibiku, Gathiga, Njathaini junction to serve the residents of Marugu area, pupils from Kibiku Primary School and Caroline School, and police officers from Kibiku Police Station.
