If you read and listened to the Communication of the Speaker this morning, I was extremely uncomfortable with it because some of its elements were like giving a directive to the House. The Speaker’s powers are very limited. The House makes decisions and resolutions in Plenary. Therefore, the Speaker’s directive that there will be no further meetings of Committees virtually or otherwise without the approval of the House, those directives must be subject to the resolutions of this House. ... view
