  • 23 Nov 2011 in National Assembly: For the last two decades, the Government has taken bold steps in supporting the AFC to ensure that it continues discharging its mandate effectively. • 23 Nov 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, thank you for that guidance. I would like to move the following amendment:- THAT, the Motion be amended by- (i) deleting the words “provide appropriate relief to both crop and livestock farmers’’ appearing in the eleventh line of the Motion and substituting therefor the words “carry out debt restructuring”; and, (ii) inserting the words “and to provide additional financing in crop production, livestock production, irrigated agriculture and fishing farming” immediately after the word “country” in the last sentence. • 23 Nov 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I can do it later. view
  • 6 Sep 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I beg to reply. (a) Yes, I hereby table details of the total cess collected from each KTDA- managed factory, multinationals and private factories from September 2010 to June 2011, which I tabled last time. view
  • 6 Sep 2011 in National Assembly: (b) The Tea Board of Kenya (TBK) remitted a total of Kshs377,300,044 back to KTDA-managed factories, multinationals and private factories for the rural roads maintenance through the District Cess Committees and local authorities. (c) Last time, I tabled the list of roads maintained by each tea factory and the respective expenditures for the period September 2010 to June 2011. view
  • 6 Sep 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the 1 per cent cess collected from farmers is normally specifically for the tea belt zones. We have the normal funds used for the routine maintenance within that particular sector. These funds are audited by the KTDA and the TBK. view
  • 6 Sep 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I was quite clear on that. Within the particular tea zone, the cess committee normally meets and looks at the various roads which have not been maintained by use of other funds. Those are the specific roads which are normally allocated funds by the respective tea committees. Therefore, there is no duplication of the same. view
  • 6 Sep 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, in the normal Constituencies Roads Committee, we normally request the representation of KTDA and other agencies so that there will be no duplication. We normally get a lot of input from the KTDA when the Constituencies Roads Committee meets so that there will be no duplication of the same. view
