  • 9 Jun 2022 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. It has been an honour to serve my country, Kenyans and the Jubilee Party in the 12th Parliament as well as to sit on the Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs and the Committee on Delegated Legislation. I thank you, Hon. Speaker. You have taught me so much. You honestly have the patience for the job. You also have an incredible sense of humour, incredible wit and of course incredible experience and knowledge of Standing Orders, something I simply could not understand when I got here and tried to correlate it with the Civil Procedure ... view
  • 9 Jun 2022 in National Assembly: amazing. I called it an old boy's club in spite of the fact that there were many girls in it as well. I have thoroughly enjoyed myself in spite of very heavy times. Finally, I thank the Almighty Elohim because I know where He leads me and it is said and I believe that every sunset is also a sunrise. It just depends on where you are standing. Thank you. view
  • 17 May 2022 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I am a Member of the Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs and wish to move the Special Motion: THAT, taking into consideration the findings of the Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs in its Report on its consideration of Nominees for Appointment as Members of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), laid on the Table of the House on Thursday, 12th May 2022 and pursuant to the provisions of Section 10(3) of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission Act, 2011 and Sections 3 and 8 of the Public Appointments (Parliamentary Approval) Act, 2011, this ... view
  • 17 May 2022 in National Assembly: These two nominees appeared before the Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs and they were thoroughly vetted and interviewed. The Committee confirmed that, indeed, they suit and meet the requirements of the EACC Act and the Public Appointment (Parliamentary Approval) Act. Also, they demonstrated wide experience in the fields they practice in. With those few remarks, I beg to move and ask the Leader of the Majority Party to second. view
  • 17 May 2022 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I wish to thank Members for this very robust debate and discussion. Special thanks go to Hon. Otiende Amollo, for standing up for the rights of people who are not here to defend themselves and have no right of reply. I do not wish to reopen debate, but to say something that has not been said here. We must never forget the billions of shillings that Kenyans in the diaspora are contributing to the economy of this country. In fact, during the COVID pandemic, were it not for them sending money home, we know how incredibly ... view

  • 10 May 2022 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon Speaker. I wholeheartedly welcome the Persons with Disabilities Bill, the reason being that, indeed, PWDs are extremely discriminated in this country. We are talking of over 1.5 million people. I have said time and time again that the right to dignity is the platform of all rights. When the time for the Committee of the whole House comes, I have noted that some amendments come through regulations, but it is my personal desire to see them entrenched in legislation. For example, issues such as service dogs for the blind being allowed in all public buildings. There are ... view
  • 24 Nov 2021 in National Assembly: That is true, Hon. Chairman. If, indeed, the Authority has been deleted and the Schedule refers to “the Authority”, it cannot continue to be in the Bill as it is. view
  • 24 Nov 2021 in National Assembly: (Spoke off-record) The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor. view
  • 24 Nov 2021 in National Assembly: Hon. Chairman, I am just seeking a clarification from you. I also had a proposed amendment to the definition of the word “couple”. Does that mean that my proposed amendment has fallen? view
