  • 1 Oct 2020 in National Assembly: Auditor-General. One time I interacted with that Report closely because there were delays in payment of workers’ salaries and that is why I got concerned. The issues he raised are issues that need to be attended to. Some of them that were in the Report include, among other things, the fact that unidentified users were able to use the system. That is one thing that should be looked at and fixed. He also raised the issue of multiple identities. I followed it very keenly during that particular time. There are people who have multi-identities within the system. They can come ... view
  • 29 Sep 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. Last Friday or thereabout when we were dealing with the issue of dissolving Parliament, one of the Hon. Members, I think Roozah Buyu, stood and I am on the record of this House asking how she got to that institution, how it ranked her and why. I was questioning this ranking. Previously, I have been ranked number 339. I was ranked position eight some other time. I was also ranked number one in Vihiga County. After questioning the ranking last Friday, I found that I was ranked position one. view
  • 29 Sep 2020 in National Assembly: That is what happened. For me, what is very important is to follow up on what Hon. Mbadi and Hon. Dida said. They said that we have to standardise these institutions and regulate them so that if any work comes from them, it is standardised, acceptable and for everybody. That will defend every Member of Parliament whether the ranking has to be done or not. Otherwise, let us not allow ranking where Hon. Omboko can be position 339, sometimes number one or number three at other times. Hon. Speaker, I called nobody. The way I live is that I call ... view
  • 29 Sep 2020 in National Assembly: Ebukolo in my constituency. People surprised me when they told me that I had been ranked the best. I said that sometimes I am ranked last. view
  • 24 Sep 2020 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I want to say that almost half of time of Parliament before Covid-19, you had tuned the chairs and they were coming to the House. Probably, you need to again tune these chairs after Covid-19. Most of them came around during Covid-19. You need to sit them down so that they can start taking the business of the House seriously. The other ones before these ones were tuned up. You have to again, sit with them so that they can attend to the business of the House. Thank you. view

  • 22 Sep 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Speaker. I want to bring to order and ask the Member who is speaking, what is this Infotrack that she is talking about? We have known of fake people walking around and ranking Members of Parliament. Usually, they are sponsored by people who become number one. So, what is it and where did you get it from? view

  • 17 Sep 2020 in National Assembly: Sorry for taking senior Hon. Kioni’s time but in the morning you ruled that because of the spacing now, the mask is a must. Could the Hon. Member put on his mask? Thank you. view
  • 17 Sep 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady. I want to support the amendment by the Chair. They are actually Committee amendments. In the first one, the idea was to expand the leave for people adopting a child. However, we thought it was important to balance between the employer's interest of always wanting the employees to be at work and also the human aspect of taking care of a child. That is why the Chair is settling on one month. However, in the second case of surrogacy, there is no law that really governs surrogacy in this country. In addition, like the ... view
