I believe we were very discriminatory in actually leaving out all these people. I want to end by saying that the Cash Transfer Fund should actually be enhanced, so that we can also cover a certain age bracket. Also, the mode, or process, of identifying the beneficiaries of this particular Fund, I think, it was skewed to the extent that you find in some areas people who are benefitting are younger than others. In fact, others who are benefitting are not even within that age bracket. I think we also need to create good rules, so that when we are ...

Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I must thank you for giving me this opportunity to make a small contribution to this important Bill, which touches on the creation of the proposed investment body that will regularize and guide us on matters to do with investments. For a long time, Kenyans have been treated to “all kind of thrills” in matters of investments because they have never had a serious body that regulates the practice and give people advice on the best types of investments. practice. For example, in Kenya, the pricing mechanisms in the land sector have been exaggerated to a level that some people can even kill to acquire even a small piece of land. Today, we hear of land issues in the country. The latest issue is that of Karen. The reason as to why we are having a very serious problem in the land sector is because the cost of land has been exaggerated. It has been over-priced and we need to regulate it. We want to have a body which, even the investors from other countries, can trust. They can know in which particular areas they can invest and which are stable.

I want to end by saying that for a long time, some of us have been investing in areas like land, cattle and banking, without looking at other areas which can enable us to make good money and security. That body will come in handy in helping the people of this country to know which areas to invest.

Thank you, hon. Speaker. I also wish to stand to support this Motion of Adjournment, and specifically the fact that this Session has been quite busy; although we also represent the constituents in this House, we must also be with them in the constituencies. I think I support this particular Motion, because it will give us time to be close to them and also to deal with issues that we have in the constituencies.

Hon. Speaker, this is the time also when we have new disbursement for this financial year; it is the time when we need to go and look at the projects that we have actually implemented, and see how far they have gone and also initiate other new projects.

Hon. Speaker, we also remember there is this question of Uwezo. We are also trying to ensure that the beneficiaries of this particular money access it. This recess will go a long way in helping us have those issues solved.

Hon. Speaker, I must also thank Members for the Session that has been very exciting; although some of us may not have made many contributions, we have also been around to give support and also vote on Bills and Motions, which have been seen through during this particular period.
