• 26 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: I will not overemphasize the fact that Kenyans woke up very early in the morning to queue and vote on that particular day. Actually, they voted. Just before the voting day, this House, together with the Senate, formed a Joint Select Committee which deliberated on a number of amendments to be made to our electoral laws. After the Returning Officer for the presidential elections announced the winner of the election, as NASA, we came out and disputed the result of the election very peacefully. Speaker, we were even advised then that there are only three other countries in the world, before Kenya’s Supreme Court ruling, that had their presidential elections nullified. • 13 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: be voted for by this House. The Committee cannot start transacting any business until it is properly constituted. Indeed, that is my point of order. We cannot have a HBC until the Minority Coalition, which is NASA brings in its members, including the Leader of the Minority Party, the Whip of the Minority Party and three other members from the Minority side. • 24 May 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Speaker for giving me this opportunity to contribute to the Division of Revenue Bill, 2017. My colleagues have spoken and said that this Bill had been passed in this House and so we did not expect to transact the same again. Looking at what has happened with this Bill, it reminds me that we really struggled as a country to come up with the Constitution in 2010. One of the best chapters in that Constitution is Chapter 12 on public finance. view
