Mr. Speaker, Sir, given that Kiambu East and Kiambu West have got such a huge allocation of funds, could the Assistant Minister assure this House that other regions with Class D Roads will get the same treatment? Mr. Speaker, the Assistant Minister should not give us the process. We are interested in the results. We are not doctors. Could he confirm to this House that in future, we will 2226 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES July 30, 2008 not face a shortage of these very important drugs? We cannot play with the future of our children.

Could the Minister issue a Statement to this House explaining why Kenya Airways is in the process of recruiting up to 600 air hostesses from the West African region? I would like the Minister to explain to this House whether this country lacks this type of personnel so that we have to import them, given that we have so many jobless youth who need jobs. Mr. Speaker, Sir, the question that the Assistant Minister needs to address is that on 17th February, 2007 the salaries of ambassadors were increased vide a letter from the Head of the Public Service. Why did the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs ignore the letter from his immediate boss?

Mr. Speaker, Sir, I appreciate the answers given by the Minister. However, I want a further clarification from him. As he tries to recruit more teachers, there are some districts that lost teachers during the post-election violence. Those teachers have not reported back to their stations. Is he going to replace them from their former stations?

On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. The Ministry should have a clear policy. Is it in order for an Assistant Minister to stand and tell us that on humanitarian grounds, he will consider, yet before our forces are sent out of this country, we expect a clear policy to deal with this issues? The Assistant Minister should have to the House and told us exactly what he will do under these circumstances.

Could the Assistant Minister confirm that all the official residences of mayors and council chairmen belong to the councils or they have been grabbed?
