  • 8 Jun 2016 in National Assembly: THAT, the Cabinet Secretary further informed the meeting that sufficient land has since been acquired by the Army in Isiolo for long-term training and, therefore, grounds in Murramur were no longer viable for army training. THAT, out of goodwill, the Samburu County Council allocated 400 hectares in Baragoi for use by the Army, in place of the Murramur land which was already occupied. THAT, Murramur community was never consulted when their land was given to the Ministry of Defence as a training ground for the Army. THAT, despite efforts to resolve the tussle between Murramur community and the Ministry of ... view

  • 7 Jun 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I support the Motion. The only thing that we should look at as a country when we want to borrow is not the amount that we are borrowing, but the return on investment (ROI) from the loan. That is the only viable benchmark in terms of borrowing. In this case, if we were borrowing this money to put it into some social programme, I would ask whether it really makes sense because the financial ROI could be nothing. While we are not only trying to compete with the world, but also within the East ... view
  • 7 Jun 2016 in National Assembly: into the inland and across the USA. That is why the USA economy became integrated. That is exactly what the Government is doing. The Government will not support a loan that will affect our people in future, especially if the project will not return on investment. This particular project will return on investment. • 21 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman, I am completely disturbed. This is a House that represents the people of Kenya. The image we portray in this House these days is one that indicates complete barriers between the genders. If you look at what is happening today and it is good the gender Bill is sponsored by Hon. A.B. Duale, women seem to be in one side in this House and men on the other. view
  • 21 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Let me just say that it looks very bad before our people. Every man in this world is a woman and every woman a man. I am married to a woman. I represent my wife, daughter and my female constituents. All these women represent their husbands. There is no difference between men and women. I do not know why we are so separated along gender. view

  • 20 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Each community group has a register. We know all the members in that register. We know what two-thirds of each register is. For instance, my group ranch has 212 members. Two-thirds of that can be easily calculated. Hon. Junet, who comes from Migori County, needs some guidance on how group ranches operate.
