Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to support this important Bill. Before I give my views and contribution, I want to thank the Committee for a job well-done in coming up with this amendment Bill. As we talk about roads, their importance in this country runs through my mind because we depend on agriculture. Most people in my constituency depend on agriculture. and arrowroots. The topography of my constituency is hilly and there is need for road maintenance almost every year. During the rainy season, the roads are swept away. For any country to achieve sustainable development, it must have good roads. Without roads, we cannot talk of development. I support the extension from three years to five years. When we were elected in 2017, we thought 2022 was too far away. Four years down the line, we have done a lot. As a Member of Parliament, one has so many projects. In fact, when you look in your diary, you find ...

Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me the opportunity to support this important Motion on the Agreement between the USA and Kenya. I support it because I know it will come with many benefits for our country. In Kenya, we mostly depend on agriculture. Most of our farmers grow their crops but lack market. This is one way of improving agriculture in the country because the markets will be available. This will also ease the relationship between the two countries. With such a relationship, our farmers will be in a position to benefit and, as they do so, ...

Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to add my voice in support of the Bill. Digital banking and credit facility help Kenyans, especially low earners. I remember some of my constituents enjoy borrowing through the Fuliza platform. The youth take it seriously because they borrow money and in the evening they pay back. It is very important to support this amendment because it is timely. It will help people. During an emergency, they will be in a position to sort out their issues. For example, when students are sent home from school due to non-payment ...

I would be in a position to help them borrow and get money and do their businesses and repay. So, this platform is key. We need to move from analogue to digital platforms. Many banks have adopted this. We need to support the move because it helps the wananchi in the villages where they cannot even access banks. In the constituencies, you realise that banks are more than 30 kilometres away. For you to travel that distance so that you can get a facility is a challenge. So, this platform will help Kenyans and make our country be like a ...

Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity to support this amendment Bill. I am excited and would like to congratulate the Committee for the good amendments to the Irrigation Act. When we talk about irrigation, we are talking about water. Water is key and very important for any country's economy to grow. When we talk about irrigation as a country, it is high time we thought of it because if you tour some eastern countries like South Korea, you find that they are reclaiming land from the sea to do irrigation. To have sustainable development in ...
