I just want to state five points. One is based on what he told the Committee, that if he is given an opportunity he will try to build public trust and confidence in this institution. That will be an enormous task for him to achieve because this is lacking. There is no public trust and confidence in that institution and, therefore, someone with such passion should be given an opportunity to make this a reality. Another current problem at ... view

This is because of the disunity between the secretariat and the commissioners. Dr. Wabukala has expressed willingness to bring those two levels together. We also need somebody who is honest and with very firm and fair leadership qualities. Having looked at his religious background, I have no doubt whatsoever that this nominee will create a strong and stable Commission for this country. There is lack of consultation at the EACC.
