The words to note in our rules are“active proceedings.”Were there active proceedingsat the time this Senate was seized of this matter? No. When we started on this matter, as the Committee on National Security, Defence and Foreign Relations, we visited the scene. We brought a preliminary report to this House and Sen. Kihika made a Statement on that aspect before anybody was ever brought before a court of law. Actually, the arrests and proceedings which they now want to use to stop ... view

  • 1 Aug 2018 in Senate: Yes, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I wish to be corrected on that. However, they have reported that they have received threats. This subjudice rule that is being invoked now is just another threat. I ask that we commend this Committee for coming out strongly; for resisting the advances, threats and for appending their signatures for the sake of the people of Solai. view
