Secondly, I would want to know the role that was played by the protocol staff of the Deputy President. As you know, the Office of the Deputy President is a constitutional office. When the Deputy President visits a neighbouring country, the protocol officers need to know that there must be consultation between the Office of the Deputy President and the Office of the President. May I get your direction to the effect that this constitutional issue of the Deputy President being exposed to ridicule is a weighty issue, in respect of which I can write to your office so that we can discuss it as an Adjournment Motion? It is so serious that a whole Deputy President can be exposed and ridiculed in a manner that I saw yesterday just because of failure of protocol people. It is as simple as that. view
