wave of bizarre abductions and gruesome murders has swept across the nations. It is disturbing and it is a matter of urgency for us to discuss. In the past week, we have learnt about the horrific deaths of the three women whom Sen. Eddy has talked about; Madam Waris Daud, her daughter, Amina Abdirashid and her niece, Nuseyba. We have tried to condole with the family. However, we have kept on wondering why the women and why should they go through that pain. This is an opportunity for me to also condole with them and grieve about my neighbour Willis ...

we are just being told stories and also the family cannot lay him to rest until the investigation is complete. So, it is unfortunate that the country is going through this. Seriously, are we heading to the dogs? I am saying it with bitterness. Twenty lives have been lost within one month and no explanation has come out for Kenyans to understand why this is happening---

Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I rise pursuant to Standing Order 53(1) to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on Health regarding the deplorable state of health services at the Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital in Nairobi City County. Particularly, in the maternity wing, reports indicate severe overcrowding with as many as five patients sharing a single bed. Additionally, there are claims that patients are unable to fully access necessary facilities and are still being charged for services they could not utilize. The situation raises serious concerns about the dignity, safety, and well-being of the patients relying on the hospital ...

Mr. Speaker, Sir, I rise pursuant to Standing Order No.53(1) to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on Education regarding the lack of a dedicated prayer facility for Muslim students at Moi Girls High School, Kibra Constituency in Nairobi City County despite Christian students having a designated space for fellowship. This issue raises concerns about religious inclusivity and equity in public institutions in the country. It is important to ensure that all students, regardless of their faith, have equal access to facilities that support their religious practices as guaranteed by the Constitution. In the Statement, the Committee should- (1) ...

Thank you, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir. I support this Motion, and commend my very able Chairman, our Deputy Part Leader of ODM, for the good work that he has been doing so far. I just wanted to note for very few minutes the cross-cutting points. I was looking at the audit report which was considered by the team, and some of the water companies have taken loans due to developing infrastructure for big dams, but they end up not being able to do it. They might have gotten the funds for the big dams, but then they did not consult ...

The other challenge is that counties do not have the co-ownership arrangements between the water companies at the national level and those at the county level. That one is also an issue. The challenge of non-revenue water has also been mentioned. It is a thorn in the flesh. They blame the old piping system, breakages, illegal connections and many other issues, but water companies need to invest on this. They need to invest in new technologies like upgrading the pipes and using smart metres to detect leakages. We need to embrace the smart metres to tackle the commercial losses done ...
