Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I stand to oppose this Motion. I want to make it very clear right from the outset that we are not opposed to hon. Members going on recess. What we are saying is that the timing is wrong. We are saying that because there is unfinished business in this House. That business is as a result of your order as the Chair. You gave work to the Departmental Committees of this House. You even gave us some time frame to complete that work. Now that we are ready to present our Reports--- We must appreciate that ...

Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I also stand to support the Vote. This is a very important Ministry and I want to share the sentiments of the speaker who has just left the Floor, by saying that what the Minister has asked for is not enough, taking into account the creation of new districts. He is talking of about Kshs150 million for the establishment and rehabilitation of registries, and we have more than 100 new districts. It appears that the new districts have not been captured. That is the impression I am getting! Recently, I visited Narok South District ...

Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, with the kind of malpractices that have been going on in the Ministry of Lands, I want to believe that he is going to rectify it all; already we are seeing a lot of changes. In fact, most of the problems that we are facing in this country now are land-related. Most of the complaints that we are hearing among communities and leaders are land-related. However, I want to believe that the Minister will bring sanity to the Ministry, and that we are going to get what we believe is going to help this country move ...

Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I am rising on a point of order on an issue raised by my colleague, hon. Wamalwa. He raised an issue concerning some Questions finding their way out before they are presented here before the House. Is it really in order that sometimes Questions reach the media before they are asked here in the House?

Thank you, Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker. I also rise to support the Motion by Mr. Kaino. The importance of forests in this country cannot be overemphasised. It is true that forests in Kenya are facing a lot of threats. It is not only in Cherangany, but in the whole country. This is because of human encroachment and activities which pose a threat to our forests. As much as we want to look at the preservation of our forests, we must also look at the people living in those forests. It is important that we take their interests into account. There ...

Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I am also concerned about the creation of new districts. The creation of new districts by the Government leaves a lot to be desired. Sometimes, you want to question what is a district. Is forcing a DC to an area enough to make that area a district? I am asking this question because the recent creation of districts in the country has left many areas with only DCs, and we call those areas districts. I want to know from the Assistant Minister what is being done. I come from Narok Town which is a ...

Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I also stand to support this Motion. It is a very important Motion which is long overdue as he rightly put it. Plastic waste is an eyesore in this country. In fact, if you take a walk in our countryside, you will realise that urban centres and the land neighbouring them have actually been claimed by these plastics. A very good example is Mai Mahiu. If you go to Mai Mahiu, you might not even want to sit there because the area has generally been claimed by plastics. Both animal and human life is threatened. Generally, ...

Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, for giving me the opportunity to contribute to this Motion. I will start with self-introduction. I am Mr. ole Lankas, the Member for Narok South. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to join the rest of my colleagues in supporting the Motion. I believe that the Presidential Speech was reconciliatory. It is also guiding in terms of policy formulation. It has also given us a basis on which to build the foundation of all that we are talking about in this House. So, I entirely support the Presidential Speech to this House. We have ...
