• 11 Sep 2018 in Senate: deducted on a yearly basis. They were forced to sign contracts by the national Government, yet they did not know about it. Now, they are saying that this is a devolved matter. Instead of getting their people on the ground to understand and get full information, when they are questioned they say that we do not have the moral authority to ask that. I sit in the Committee on Energy and it is shameful that when we invited the Ministry of Energy, the Acting Managing Director of Kenya Power Company, members of Rural Electrification Authority (REA) as well as the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) to appear yesterday, so that they could address this particular issue on the escalating cost of energy, they failed to appear.
