  • 24 Nov 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. It is so unfortunate that just some minutes ago, you said we cannot sacrifice our colleagues because it is a Statement. If you look at the performance of the teacher - I wish Hon. Florence is here because I have discussed this matter with her at length - the table that shows the performance of Mr. ole Mereu, I have a schedule of Narok East, comprising of 78 schools. What is in that schedule is what they have given as Kudate’s performance. It is not Mereu’s performance. He served in Ntulele from 2002. In 2002, he ... view
  • 24 Nov 2020 in National Assembly: Boarding School. It has all the facilities with over 1000 kids. The parents have been demonstrating over the transfer of this teacher. The performance of this school has greatly improved and for the first time in 20 years, last year, the school took 10 kids to national schools. It will be unfortunate to take the school back to where it was. Hon. Sankok will bear me witness that we have visited several offices to have Mr. Kudate back in that school in vain. Thank you, Hon. Speaker. view
  • 15 Oct 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I rise to request for a Statement pursuant to Standing Order No.44 (2)(c), from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Education and Research, regarding questionable transfer of an acting school head teacher in Narok County. Hon. Deputy Speaker, Section 7(1)(e) of the Public Service (Values and Principles) Act 2015 requires that the public service be provided to the end user effectively while Section 7(6) requires every public institution to ensure adaptability of public service to the needs of the public which are key pillars of devolution hence enshrined in the Constitution. The Teachers Service ... view
  • 15 Oct 2020 in National Assembly: Yes, 230 in 2015 to 301 in 2019, and from a zonal ranking of position 50 to 2 that has led to increase in enrollment from 200 to 860 pupils. This is why the sudden and ill-advised questionable replacement with a non-performing teacher has led to massive demonstrations by parents and the general public in Narok who fear that the transfer shall negatively affect the education standards in the area. Hon. Deputy Speaker, it is on the account of these public concerns that I seek a Statement from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee of Education and Research, on the ... view
  • 15 Oct 2020 in National Assembly: (i) What led TSC to propose the replacement of Mr. Fleming Simpiri Kudate with a non-performing teacher in direct opposition to public interest? (ii) Could the TSC provide the performance of the said teacher with regard to the school? (iii) Why has Mr. Kudate been serving in acting capacity despite his stellar performance that has improved the school education standard? (iv) Within what timelines shall TSC revoke the proposed transfer so as to safeguard the increasing education standards of Inkoirienito Mixed Day and Boarding School and in the neighbouring areas of Narok County? Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. view
  • 26 Feb 2020 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I rise to ask a Question by Private Notice to the Cabinet Secretary for Health. view
  • 26 Feb 2020 in National Assembly: (i) Could the Cabinet Secretary confirm that eight Chinese “nationalists” arrived from Wuhan City, China, the epicentre of the outbreak of Coronavirus, and travelled to Section 5, Duka Moja Camp of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) construction site in Narok East Constituency on Saturday, 22nd February 2020 and have been in isolation since then? view
  • 26 Feb 2020 in National Assembly: (ii) Could the Cabinet Secretary clarify whether the said Chinese nationals were properly screened and provide the reasons why they were allowed into the country instead of being isolated in a suitable designated isolation centre? view
