  • 21 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, there has been a programme to upgrade some roads from Class “D” to “C” and rural access roads to either “D” or “C”. What has happened to that programme of upgrading some of the rural roads to a higher status? view
  • 20 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I would like to know from the Assistant Minister whether they have introduced life cover for police officers so that their families could be fully compensated when they die in the course of duty. view
  • 19 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, let me support the Motion because it is important and in response to the problems that are there in the country. I have listened and I had hoped that we would have a lot of what I have heard from Dr. Machage, Mr. Mbadi and a few others on how to resolve the issue. It is not really going to help us if we use this platform as a mudslinging occasion. Let us take the case of food prices, and I am saying this because the Ministry of Agriculture is not responsible for food prices ... view
  • 13 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I beg to ask the Minister for Regional Development Authorities:- (a) whether he could state the status of all projects being undertaken by the Kerio Valley Development Authority (KVDA) within the larger Keiyo District, indicating the budgeted cost of each project; and, (b) why KVDA has delayed in implementing the said projects and when they will be completed. view
  • 13 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I would like to thank the Minister for the elaborate answer that he has given. If you look at the answer, there are some dams which he says are awaiting construction. It is known that those dams have not been designed and surveyed. When are those dams going to be designed and surveyed and yet, the financial year is about to end? view
  • 13 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, some of the projects which were started in 2008/2009, 2009/2010 and 2010/2011 are still ongoing. How come the projects of 2008/2009 and 2009/2010 are still ongoing? Should they not have been completed within that financial year? view
  • 12 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, I thank Mr. Kapondi for donating that time. If we had time, those of us who come from societies with this practice, would have a lot to tell you. As a young girl, I attended all the dancing ceremonies because they looked colourful. I always wondered why these girls were crying so much. I also witnessed women leaving children in their houses and going through this ceremony. The tears forced me even at that young age to ask myself what is going on. We now know what the medical reasons are and the pain they must ... view
  • 7 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, could the Assistant Minister confirm whether it is the policy of the Ministry to encourage farmers to buy seed maize from private sellers, instead of buying them from the Kenya Seed Company? He is telling them to buy seeds from private firms, yet the Kenya Seed Company should produce enough seeds for the country. That is their role. It should even produce seeds for export. view
  • 23 Feb 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I would like the Assistant Minister to tell this House how they select the projects. Do they involve the local communities? Is Keiyo North Constituency one of the 40 constituencies under the Lake Victoria North Water Services Board? view
  • 17 Feb 2011 in National Assembly: Thank you Mr. Speaker, Sir. I would like the Assistant Minister to tell this House how much interest is charged when money is disbursed through the C- YES and financial intermediaries. How much do those two institutions charge as interest? view
