Millions of tonnes of mangoes go to waste throughout the year and we know that there is a huge potential in terms of markets in the Middle East and Europe. My question is specific. What action is the Ministry going to take to assist local farmers access the available markets in the Middle East and Europe, where there is great potential? view

The heavy duty lorries that pass through this road have caused a traffic menace within the town. 3694 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES November 15, 2006 There was a proposal to create a bypass which will join Road B8 around Mijikenda and leave off B8 from Sadaha. Could the Minister clarify whether he is aware of this? Are there any plans to do that immediately during the rehabilitation of that road? view

• 1 Nov 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I am amazed by this answer. This is another example of empty promises. On 14th September, 2006, when His Excellency the President came to Malindi, he ordered that six kilometres of that road be tarmacked immediately. Now, two months after that, this Assistant Minister is saying that he has no immediate plans to tarmack that road. Does this answer imply that the President was politicking or he was speaking as the Head of State? view

All the same, as a result of the heavy rains, for the last three weeks, some sections of this road have been completely damaged and cut off, yet it is the same road that is used by tourists every day to get to the national park.
