  • 28 Apr 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I also rise to reject this appointment. My reason for the same is very simple. Within the Ministry of Education, we have the Kenya Institute for Curriculum Development (KICD) which is a fully fledged institution that deals with curriculum development of both primary and secondary schools in this country. You might want to know that the current PS for Basic Education came from the KICD. He is already skilled and together with that institute, I am sure issues to do with curriculum development can be handled ably at that particular point. In any case, the PS ... view
  • 30 Mar 2021 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I rise to ask the Teachers Service Commission the following Question: When will the Teachers Service Commission process and pay gratuity claim and benefits lodged by the beneficiaries of the late Ms. Jane Namuyemba Wawire, TSC No. 197147 who passed on 14th November, 2015? view

About a year ago, we had to deploy police officers there. They were there for about a week to try and maintain peace at the border point. The ... view
  • 30 Mar 2021 in National Assembly: I want to support what Hon. Millie was talking about. Issues of boundaries are very emotive. We can joke about them here, but for the people watching or listening to us, it is a very serious matter. We might actually wake up to something different tomorrow, where we find the people of Migori fighting with the people of Homa Bay. Even as we welcome the Committee to investigate the matters on the ground, as the leadership from the area, if we sit down together, these are issues we can resolve amicably. Finally, I urge my colleague, Hon. Tom Odege; that, ... view
  • 18 Mar 2021 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, thank you for the opportunity. I just want to make some clarification. I agree with you that even if we were to break, it is important we listen to each other. The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for informationpurposes only. • 18 Mar 2021 in National Assembly: I heard the Leader of the Majority Party and the Chair of the Budget and Appropriations Committee explain to Members the issue of the NG-CDF. One of the points that is not coming out clearly, which probably Members need to understand, is the following: At the close of the last Financial Year 2019/2020, the NG-CDF Board had not released about Kshs14 billion. So, when we went into the budgeting cycle for the 2020/2021 Financial Year, the current financial year, we budgeted for the NG-CDF for this financial year without taking into consideration the arrears of Kshs14 billion. So, that was ... view
