Mr. Speaker, Sir, you will notice that the answer given today is exactly the same answer which was given yesterday, except the words âin circumstances where the police had criminal intent.â I will take the answer in my stride, but it appears that the Assistant Minister is intent on covering up.

I know that it is over 70 people who have been killed. It is the police and the Ministry that has information and should table it here. With your indulgence, I want to draw the Assistant Ministerâs attention and to confirm whether he is misleading the House by not giving this information. Mr. Speaker, Sir, the Assistant Minister can ask that question. Mine is different. I have asked about the people shot dead by the police. Later on, if she approaches me, I can ask the number of police officers shot dead on her behalf.

Mr. Speaker, Sir, with your permission, so that the Assistant Minister does not say he does not have the dates and places--- I do not have the names; it is the Government that is the custodian of the information. Kenyans deserve to know. After the passage of the new Constitution, police should be publishing on a quarterly basis the number of people killed and they should be investigating the circumstances. On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. This Question is prompted by the many extra judicial killings. Did you hear the Assistant Minister say that the police are looking for thugs to kill, when we know that the law does not allow them to kill them? They are supposed to be taken before a court of law. Is he in order to say that the police are looking for thugs to kill?
