26 Aug 2011 in National Assembly:
That is a mere point of argument and I will proceed undeterred. I have said that Clause 2 is to ensure that women are not excluded from the contest merely because they have been given 47 women seats. Mr. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir, in the case of Kamukunji by-elections, the woman candidate left the party before the nominations. That is why we had a male candidate who won the nominations. I want to urge this House to do what is good for the country. I urge men not to be scared of participation of women because it can only bring benefits to our country.
