28 Jun 2016 in Senate:
Mr. Speaker, Sir, I do not want the issue of Sen. Murkomen and Sen. (Dr.) Khalwale to overtake my point of order. Is it in order for the Senator for West Pokot to actually mislead the country that if a Senator is sitting on the other side, and he or she is a Chair or Vice-Chair of a Committee, they cannot answer questions? I do not think he is any better. Has he visited the road despite being on this side? Is he in order?

31 May 2016 in Senate:
Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I am giving guidance as a Member of the Committee because we have been involved in this matter before. It has come back to the Committee. We are doing everything possible. After the First Reading, we will mobilise stakeholders so that we can fast-track it. Owing to the timeline that we have been given as a country, we must give guidance. We are on it as the Committee on Labour and Social Welfare. We will involve as many stakeholders as possible.

3 May 2016 in Senate:
On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Is it in order for Sen. Okong’o to impute that every Chairperson of the Committee is from the Jubilee Government yet we know that some of them are from CORD? Have they been magnanimous despite having majority in committees?

15 Mar 2016 in Senate:
Nakushukuru, Bw. Spika.

15 Mar 2016 in Senate:
Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, I impress on the Chairman of the Committee on Education to take this Statement seriously. We had a school in Vihiga County where girls are being seriously caned as corporal punishment. We need to guide the country on where we stand on the implementation of this Basic Education Act 2013. I pray that you direct that we get this Statement by the end of the week and not later than that.

15 Mar 2016 in Senate:
Madam Temporary Speaker, yes. I also thank Sen. Gwendo for that Statement. Indeed, it is quite appalling that we have got to a situation where we put it out there in the media that we have a party and nobody goes home a virgin. I think we have lost it. I also think that we must also interact with the fact that if you look at the Ministry of Education in terms of guidelines on age, you will see that there have been very many cases of under age children that are finishing school before they are 12 years old. ...
