Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I support the Bill. I want to focus on the issue of psycho-social support for victims of disaster. That is the part that excites me about this particular Bill. We have had a lot of disasters in this country, be it terrorist attacks, buildings that have collapsed, floods and so on. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker as much as we are able to deal with the immediate effects in most circumstances, we do not seem to have a structured infrastructure to deal with what The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information ...

happens to the victims and all the people who participate in the management of the disaster. Whether it is the fire-fighters or fast responders who go to the scene of that particular disaster. One of the things I have seen in this Bill is the proposal for the establishment of a psycho-social support structure for victims. In my opinion, it should also include responders and those participants at that particular rescue operation. Anytime there is a disaster the psycho-social effect of that disaster on the psyche of the people who get affected directly, their close allies and friends is huge, ...

Talk to the dealers we know, talk to government, ensure that everybody we know who handles fuel at whatever level is being talked to, just to make fuel available rather than hoard it and inconvenience Kenyans greatly as has happened. Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I stand to support the Huduma Bill (National Assembly Bill No. 57 of 2021). At the outset, I am member of the Departmental Committee on Administration and National Security. I would like to focus this House on the primary reason why this Bill is important. In the corporate sector today, we have big emphasis on what we call “know your customer” where for you to serve your customer well, you need to know as much as possible about that customer. The Government’s primary customer is the Kenyan citizen or a member of ...

Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I appreciate the opportunity to comment on the President’s State of the Nation Address, and to especially support many of the things that he raised. First and foremost, I would like to point out that you have an option in any given circumstance. You can give someone a glass of juice that is three-quarters full and they can decide to focus on the quarter that is not there and complain about that. For those of us in this House, we are all political operatives. We know that politics is not a perfect ...

they came down. For the sake of this nation, they reached out to each other. The lesson that we should learn from the handshake is that for us to move our country forward, we must be willing to step down from hard-held positions and listen to the other person. That is one of the achievements of the President. There was a major articulation, in point form, of the economic infrastructure. Kenya looks like a construction site. If you drive around town, you will look like you are in the middle of a construction site. That is something we cannot underscore. ...

Hon. Deputy Speaker, I rise to ask the Cabinet Secretary for Education the following Question: (i) Could the Cabinet Secretary explain the criteria used to determine the teachers who receive enhanced house allowance in Nyeri Town Constituency? (ii) What are the reasons and/or circumstances that led to teachers from some schools such as Kirimara and Chania primary schools, receiving the said allowance, which was later withdrawn?

that Hon. Ndindi called certain people sellouts, conmen and traitors. He has admitted that he actually called certain people that. He now needs to go on record and tell us who he was referring to so that we deal with it. What he has been doing is lecturing us on issues that have no consequence to this affair. So, I was wondering whether it is in order for him to continue lecturing us as 80 Members of Parliament on something that he has been challenged about. He is not coming here based on something good that he did; he is ...
