  • 15 Mar 2018 in National Assembly: This Bill also addresses a lot of other linkages that are brought forward and backward in terms of enriching the five counties that are affected by this Bill. There is an issue of harmonising or even equalising prices of land. This Bill indirectly addresses it. If we are going to have a good transport network that will enable people to easily access places where they can afford land, then we are going to address the issue of lack of housing or other factors that have been contributing to lack of adequate housing. I know that any good thing will always ... view
  • 15 Mar 2018 in National Assembly: This is a good thing that should be supported by everybody, especially politicians like governors. It is easier to have an authority that is going to address the problems that are related to transport in Nairobi City than a governor who is also looking forward to re-election. It is much easier for a CEO running an authority to deal with the mess that is in this city than a politician. Every five years, just before an election, we find the city of Nairobi in chaos because nobody wants to take the responsibility of restoring order because they fear that they ... view
  • 15 Mar 2018 in National Assembly: With those remarks, I support. view
  • 28 Feb 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I rise to support this Special Motion on the appointment of PSs, State Department for Planning and Devolution. From the outset, I want to say that I come from a minority community and I straight away support the appointment of Mr. Nelson Marwa, who needs no introduction in this country. He has served this country with distinction. There are many Kenyans who serve well, but are never recognised. So, I just want to give special thanks to the President and the Deputy President for seeing it fit to elevate excellence and good ... view
  • 28 Feb 2018 in National Assembly: Mr. Marwa should be a bit soft and more diplomatic. I think, on the contrary, he should not. Mr. Marwa should remain as no nonsense as he has been. It is the only way that small communities like Kuria, Teso, Sabaot and others that have no voice would be heard and their issues addressed at the national level. Since we know his work and we know that he has delivered, he should extend the same as he plays the role of interfacing between the national Government and county governments. He will ensure that all the programmes in his Ministry meant ... view
  • 28 Feb 2018 in National Assembly: As we strive as a country to address food shortage, it is also disheartening that the people of Kuria have harvested a lot of maize. This is not a story that everybody gets to talk about from their regions because unfortunately, despite the farmers taking their maize to the NCPB in Ntimaru and Kehancha, there are no gunny bags to store this maize. So, the maize is just being rained on. There is a big problem. This is the only cash crop that the people of Kuria talk about. So, I want to urge that even as Nelson Marwa and ... view
  • 27 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I rise to support this Motion, but before I do that I would like to congratulate Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker and yourself for being appointed this morning to the Chairpersons’ Panel. I know Hon. Jessica Mbalu very well. I worked with her in Itange and Kibwezi. I know how passionate she is. I am also happy that Hon. Soipan got this position. It seems like the position of Speaker is slowly moving towards Kuria. Hon. Soipan is my neighbour. We will have it, I think in the 13th Parliament. view
  • 27 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: The people of Kuria have now an opportunity to tap into the conversation of the Nile Basin through this Motion. We have rivers that flow into Lake Victoria in my constituency. Small rivers like the Gahitwa and Tebesi and others that nobody talks about run the risk of drying up. There are a lot of issues that need to be addressed so that we protect them. Now that this conversation has got to the centre stage, we will be part of it. The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. A certified version of this Report ... view
  • 27 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: Unfortunately, my two minutes are up but I support and thank you very much for giving me the chance. view
  • 13 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: Asante sana, Mhe. Spika.
