  • 10 Feb 2021 in Senate: Thank you, Madam Deputy Speaker. I will take one minute. I want to add my voice to the Statement. Much has changed in the education system, especially when it comes to our learning institutions, which has mostly contributed to the change in the behaviour of our children. When the Committee sit, they should also address the issue of introduction of approved schools, so that we can have change of behaviour among our youths. If those schools are introduced, they will help these children, so that they will not be sent straight away to jail or police custody. They will be ... view

  • 9 Feb 2021 in Senate: of Members who have been proposed to serve in the Senate Business Committee (SBC). I know that they are up to the task and will deliver. Those who have served in the past have worked very well despite the fact that we have had a lot of work to do. The Members who have been proposed this time round will do well. It is true that coordination, communication, cooperation and fast-tracking of the Bills in this House will be the key mandate for us to work. Cooperation between you, the SBC and the Liaison Committee will help us achieve the ... view
  • 29 Dec 2020 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I just want to second what the other Senators have said. It is very unfortunate that when Sen. Cherargei is on the Floor of the House--- It is uncouth seeing some Members insult public and state officers. It is very unfortunate for him to say that a CS is a flower girl. If she is a flower boy, then he should be a flower boy, but let him not call a CS in the Republic of Kenya a flower girl. He needs to withdraw that statement. view
  • 21 Dec 2020 in Senate: Madam Temporary Speaker, I thank you for giving me this opportunity to join you in sending my tribute to the family of the late Sen. (Dr.) Kabaka Bonface Mutinda. I would like to begin by stating that the hour of death cannot be forecast. We can only imagine that death will be in a distance future. The death of our colleague, Sen. (Dr.) Kabaka came very soon. view
  • 21 Dec 2020 in Senate: Madam Temporary Speaker, I had time to go and visit him in hospital the day he passed on, only to be told he was no more. You can imagine the feeling; going to visit somebody and being told that he was being taken to the morgue. view

  • 21 Dec 2020 in Senate: With all due respect, it is my honour to speak about him today. Although I wish I were talking about his retirement party and celebrating what a great man he was, I am eulogizing Sen. (Dr.) Kabaka. view
  • 21 Dec 2020 in Senate: Sen. (Dr.) Kabaka was an honourable Member and articulate leader who brought courage in everything he did. He had a fine political mind. We can all think that we will continue to live, but life is so unfair that death came so soon for our colleague. It has taken him so soon from the family and we shall never him again. view
  • 21 Dec 2020 in Senate: Allow me one minute because I just want to finish my tribute. It was too much for me to hold back my tears when I was in the hospital that I was headed to the morgue. view
