(b) by deleting subsection (5) and substituting therefor the following new subsection— (5) Where a mental health practitioner determines that the person with mental illness requires care beyond the period under subsection (4), the mental health practitioner shall obtain written consent from— (a) a duly appointed supporter of the person with mental illness; (b) a representative of the person with mental illness, where the person with mental illness has not appointed a supporter; or (c) the guardian of the person with mental illness, where the person with mental illness is a minor.
