Millie Grace Akoth Odhiambo Mabona

Millie first thought about becoming Mbita MP at age 13. The graduate of University of Nairobi School of Law has worked as a lawyer and women and children rights activist. The CRADLE is one of the MP’s dream come true. She founded the organization that promotes the rights of children since 1997. Millie has received the YWCA Democracy Award and the Eve woman of the year for human rights and gender. Her political tipping point came when she served as a delegate at the Bomas of Kenya, during the constitutional drafting process. ODM party nominated her to Parliament 2008 and she clinched the Mbita seat in the 2013 election.

The reason is this: If you look at the work that the First Lady is doing on issues of protecting children and the environment, she is doing a lot of work. They should not be appointed to the Council. We just import the Constitutional provision of Chapter Six. view
