Millie first thought about becoming Mbita MP at age 13. The graduate of University of Nairobi School of Law has worked as a lawyer and women and children rights activist. The CRADLE is one of the MP’s dream come true. She founded the organization that promotes the rights of children since 1997. Millie has received the YWCA Democracy Award and the Eve woman of the year for human rights and gender. Her political tipping point came when she served as a delegate at the Bomas of Kenya, during the constitutional drafting process. ODM party nominated her to Parliament 2008 and she clinched the Mbita seat in the 2013 election.

Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, is hon. Isaac Ruto in order to mislead the House that hon. Kajwang is talking about the current Government when hon. Mr. Speaker, Sir, Article 43(1)(a) and Article 53 of the Constitution provide for the right to health, and to the highest attainable standards of healthcare, especially for children. Is the Minister aware that he is in violation of the rights of the child? What steps is he taking to ensure that he actually provides for the training of at least such specialist per year instead of giving us a general policy overview without very concrete action?
