Madam Deputy Speaker, Sir, just as Plato said, I believe that given equal opportunities, a man and a woman are capable of achieving the same things. Plato’s ideas have formed the basis of modern education. What experience is showing us is that women, because of their tenderness and sensitivity, could have greater emotional intelligence than men. Given equal opportunities, you will have a situation where women beat men in a fair competition.

Madam Deputy Speaker, let this be an inspiration to all those ladies who aspire to run for positions like governorship, the presidency or senatorial position. Let them not wait to be bequeathed those positions because of gender. Let them prepare themselves. If President Suluhu did not prepare herself, if she did not invest in herself and the right morals and mental fortitude, she would not have found herself as the Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania. Madam Deputy Speaker, finally, Tanzania is a country that is wonderful in all respects. If you look at the people born in Tanzania, particularly those of the female species, they tend to be rather attractive to the eye. They also tend to touch the hearts of men in a way that Kenyan girls have failed to do.
